Novena through the intercession of SAINT FAUSTINA
for the grace of being transformed into Mercy

First Day

Jesus: Every soul should reflect My mercy (Diary, 1148). Be always merciful as I am merciful. Love everyone out of love for Me, even your greatest enemies, so that My mercy may be fully reflected in your heart (Diary, 1695).

We pray every day:

Help me, O Lord ...

I want to be completely transformed into Your mercy and to be Your living reflection, O Lord. May the greatest of all divine attributes, that of Your unfathomable mercy, pass through my heart and soul to my neighbour.

Help me, O Lord, that my eyes may be merciful, so that I may never suspect or judge from appearances, but look for what is beautiful in my neighbours’ souls and come to their rescue. Help me, that my ears may be merciful, so that I may give heed to my neighbours’ needs and not be indifferent to their pains and moanings.

Help me, O Lord, that my tongue may be merciful, so that I should never speak negatively of my neighbour, but have a word of comfort and forgiveness for all.

Help me, O Lord, that my hands may be merciful and filled with good deeds, so that I may do only good to my neighbours and take upon myself the more difficult and toilsome tasks.

Help me, that my feet may be merciful, so that I may hurry to assist my neighbour, overcoming my own fatigue and weariness. My true rest is in the service of my neighbour.

Help me, O Lord, that my heart may be merciful so that I myself may feel all the sufferings of my neighbour. I will refuse my heart to no one. I will be sincere even with those who, I know, will abuse my kindness. And I will lock myself up in the most merciful Heart of Jesus. I will bear my own suffering in silence. May Your mercy, O Lord, rest upon me. ...

O my Jesus, transform me into Yourself, for You can do all things (Diary, 163).

Prayer for the intercession of St Faustina

Saint Faustina, you told us that your mission would continue after your death and that you would not forget us (Diary, 281, 1582). Our Lord also granted you a great privilege, telling you to distribute graces as you will, to whom you will, and when you will (Diary, 31). Relying on this, I ask your intercession for the graces I need, especially: (here mention your special intentions). Help me, above all, to trust in Jesus as you did and thus to glorify His mercy every moment of my life. Amen.

Our Father ..., Hail Mary ..., Glory be ...

Second Day

Jesus: I demand from you deeds of mercy, which are to arise out of love for Me. You are to show mercy to your neighbours always and everywhere. You must not shrink from this or try to excuse or absolve yourself from it (Diary, 742).

Help me, O Lord ...

I want to be completely transformed into Your mercy and to be Your living reflection, O Lord. May the greatest of all divine attributes, that of Your unfathomable mercy, pass through my heart and soul to my neighbour.

Our Father ..., Hail Mary ..., Glory be ...

Third Day

Jesus: I am giving you three ways of exercising mercy toward your neighbour: the first - deed, the second - by word, the third – by prayer. In these three degrees is contained the fullness of mercy, and it is an unquestionable proof of love for Me. ... Even the strongest faith is of no avail without works (Diary, 742).

Help me, O Lord ...

I want to be completely transformed into Your mercy and to be Your living reflection, O Lord. May the greatest of all divine attributes, that of Your unfathomable mercy, pass through my heart and soul to my neighbour.

Jesus: Look into My Merciful Heart and reflect its compassion in your own heart and in your deeds, so that you, who proclaim My mercy to the world, may yourself be aflame with it (Diary, 1688).

Sixth Day

Jesus: Write this for the many souls who are often worried because they do not have the material means with which to carry out an act of mercy. Yet spiritual mercy, which requires neither permissions nor storehouses, is much more meritorius and is within the grasp of every soul (Diary, 1317).

Mary, Queen Assumed into Heaven, I rejoice that after years of heroic martyrdom on earth, you have at last been taken to the throne prepared for you in heaven by the Holy Trinity. Lift my heart with you in the glory of your Assumption above the dreadful touch of sin and impurity. Teach me how small earth becomes when viewed from heaven. Make me realize that death is the triumphant gate through which I shall pass to your Son, and that someday my body shall rejoin my soul in the unending bliss of heaven. From this earth, over which I tread as a pilgrim, I look to you for help. I ask for this favour:
Mention your request ...

When my hour of death will come, lead me safely to the presence of Jesus to enjoy the vision of my God for all eternity together with you.

Blessed be that moment, O Mary, when the angels took you up into heaven.

Blessed be that moment, O Mary, when your Son called you to heaven.

Blessed be that moment, O Mary, when the whole heavenly court crowned you in heaven.

Blessed be that moment, O Mary, when you were received with such great honour into heaven.

Blessed be that moment, O Mary, when you were placed at the right hand of your Son in heaven.

Blessed be that moment, O Mary, when you were crowned with such great honour in heaven.

Blessed be that moment, O Mary, when you were proclaimed the Daughter, Mother, and Spouse of God in heaven.

Blessed be that moment, O Mary, when you were proclaimed Queen of the whole heavenly court.

Blessed be that moment, O Mary, when all the angels and saints rendered homage to you in heaven.

Blessed be that moment, O Mary, when you were chosen to be our protectress in heaven.

Blessed be that moment, O Mary, when you began to intercede for us in heaven.

Blessed be that moment, O Mary, when you will mercifully receive us into heaven.

Amen

Let us pray: Mary, you were assumed body and soul into heaven by the power of God, and united with your Divine Son, Jesus. Obtain eternal happiness with him for us. Amen

Seventh Day - 12th August

O sweet Mother of God,
I model my life on You;
You are for me the bright dawn;
In You I lose myself, enraptured.
O Mother, Immaculate Virgin,
In You the divine ray is reflected,
Midst storms, ‘tis You who teach me to love the Lord,
O my shield and defence from the foe
. (Diary, 1232)

Eighth Day - 13th August

Since that time, I have been living under the virginal cloak of the Mother of God. She has been guarding me and instructing me. I am quite at peace, close to Her Immaculate Heart. Because I am so weak and inexperienced, I nestle like a little child close to Her heart.   (Diary, 1097)

Mary, Queen Assumed into Heaven, I rejoice that after years of heroic martyrdom on earth, you have at last been taken to the throne prepared for you in heaven by the Holy Trinity. Ninth Day - 14th August

Today I felt the nearness of my Mother, my heavenly Mother, although before every Holy Communion I earnestly ask the Mother of God to help me prepare my soul for the coming of Her Son, and I clearly feel Her protection over me. I entreat Her to be so gracious as to enkindle in me the fire of God’s love, such as burned in Her own pure heart at the time of the Incarnation of the Word of God. (Diary, 1114)
